Stephen Stern

I am a graduate student in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Nebraska — Lincoln. My PhD advisor is Brian Harbourne. My research interests lie in the interactions of Commutative Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, and Combinatorics. I particularly like problems with a computational flavor. Before starting my PhD, I was earned a masters in math at the University of Manitoba where my advisor was Susan Cooper and I wrote a thesis about Alexander self-duality. Before I was a graduate student, I was a computer science teacher in northern Virginia. You can write to me at sstern2@unl.edu .
